Having the opportunity to create a contemporary addition is always enjoyable - when your clients are also artists, that adds to the experience.  Our clients were interested in creating a new half story addition onto their existing two story home that would house a private master suite overlooking the surrounding area.

The new half story addition is accessed by a new grand stair with ample wall space for client-created artwork; once at the top of the stair, the entire level is an open floor plan that includes their new master bedroom and washroom with a private water closet. The addition is wrapped in horizontal corrugated metal siding - something not often found in Rhode island.

Through exploring different options for roof lines and windows, we achieved privacy for the clients while providing them views to the water within a contemporary addition.
